SFKS has paved the way in cross-border work since the 1990s.  Throughout this journey, both before and after the Handover of Hong Kong, Founding Partner Peter Sit has walked alongside the legal profession as a Council Member and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Compliance of the Law Society of Hong Kong, leading with integrity and selfless dedication as the city stepped into a new era.  In 1996, Mr. Sit, in his capacity as Council Member, chaired a working party on the sale of China properties in Hong Kong, earning significant recognition. The Handover was also a pivotal moment for SFKS, as it pioneered the filing of Hong Kong’s first registered design, short-term patent, and standard patent applications in 1997.

Since the Handover, our China Practice Group has extended its reach across the nation.  Meanwhile, our international footprint has brought us to team up us with lawyers in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe and America.  Throughout, however, SFKS has remained steadfastly committed to our core practice as a Hong Kong law firm.  In real estate, SFKS has for years acted for Hong Kong’s top-notched property developers on project sales and numerous urban renewal schemes.  In corporate and commercial matters, SFKS has represented listed companies on the Main Board and the GEM of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in notable transactions and compliance matters.  In dispute resolution, SFKS has secured victories in complex and sensitive local cases, and have collaborated with foreign counsel in representing Hong Kong-based multinational corporations before the Privy Council and in offshore jurisdictions.
