Profile

Winnie is a pragmatic and diligent litigator with client-centric mindset.  She approaches each case meticulously with attention to details and clear communication with clients, ensuring clients feel informed and supported throughout the dispute resolution process and offering practical solutions and strategies which align with clients’ goals.

Winnie handles a diverse range of commercial and civil litigations including insolvency and corporate restructuring, commercial and contractual disputes, and shareholders’ disputes.    Her experience includes acting in complex and contentious winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings, contractual disputes, land compulsory sale applications, estate administration, employment, building management and tenancy disputes.  In handling cross-border disputes, Winnie collaborates closely with legal teams across multiple jurisdictions including Mainland China, Germany, Austria and Mexico, helping clients manage risks and achieve favourable outcomes in an all-around manner. 

The following are key highlights of Winnie’s experiences:

  • Insolvency: acted for banks in highly-contested and multi-faceted bankruptcy and winding-up cases arising from a HK$8 billion syndicated loan against a tycoon and a BVI company under his control and successfully obtained winding-up and bankruptcy orders, which were upheld by the Court of Appeal
  • Insolvency: acted for the provisional liquidators of a Hong Kong company operating fashion trading business in Europe during the stage of provisional liquidation, advised on debt restructuring and corporate restructuring of the company and successfully obtained the Court’s sanction for a scheme of arrangement
  • Insolvency and Employment: acted for a statutory body in commencing and overseeing winding-up and/or bankruptcy proceedings against former employers on behalf of former employees
  • Redevelopment: acted for a high net-worth client in applying for orders for compulsory sale in respect of industrial buildings situated in Kwun Tong, successfully obtained orders for compulsory sale, and continuously advised on re-development of the lots

Beyond her core litigation practice, Winnie also handles matrimonial matters and general commercial matters such as drafting commercial agreements and overseeing corporate maintenance in Hong Kong, BVI and Cayman Islands, bringing a holistic approach to meeting clients’ diverse legal needs.
